My Little Barista

Mommy has her own little personal Barista in the house. All I have to do is get down my coffee cup and Barista BG takes care of the rest! LOL Thanks to our Keurig Coffee maker! I point to the K-cup I want and Barista BG picks it out of the carousel, opens up the holder and places the K-cup in there and closes it, and then she presses the brew button! All done while on her tippy toes! My little helper even srits the creamer in after my fresh cup is brewed. Careful not to spill it! ;)

Love Bite!

So, yesterday Abigail was at MDO while I was working and when I went to pick her up the director met me at the door and tells me that there was an incident with Abigail. *NERVOUS* What kind of incident??? She continues and tells me that Abigail was bit on the arm by one of the kids and that she was ok and she was really sorry.... I was like ok, no biggie! Don't love that she got bit but it happens! I asked her if it was a little fella in her class and she told me she wasn't allowed to tell me due to privacy policies. OK...no biggie...I'll ask his Mom when I see her today, if not today than on Thursday at our bible study. When I picked Abigail up her teachers told me the same thing....and Abigail grabs her left elbow and pulls it to the front of her and says, 'I boo-boo, Mommy.' There was no sign of any kind of love bite so I smile and tell her she was just fine! Her mind quickly shifted to her belongings that were laid out in the hall by the door, as they are each week! Low and behold...I'm leaaving and little fella's Mommy is coming and I tell her what they told me to give her a heads up, if in fact it was him! :) ....and what do you know...come to find out it was him, his Mom was a bit upset about it and apologizes, of course. I'm gonna say it here like I told her....kids are kids...it happens...and I am just thankful that I KNOW who it was that bit her! I know she's an amazing Mom....I've seen it! And I know she doesn't condone his actions. Now, if she did, I'd probably feel different! :) I'm thankful that God brought her and her little into my life. And Abigail talks about her little fella friend all the time, so I know she feels the same as I do. <3 When we got to the car I asked Abigail who bit her and she told me this little ones name....I smiled....and we talked about it. She said she cried...hahahaha...I bet! The girl can be dramatic! ;)

This week's lesson at school was the story of David and Goliath! Super cute...brown paper bag that held three different colored 'stones' made of paper, tied together with a piece of yarn. :) She LOVES her school days and I'm so thankful she is able to go!

What a TrIp!

Last weekend we packed up and headed northeast to the beautiful state of Tennessee! ....one of my home sweet homes.... The trip was part of Brian's birthday present....TICKETS to the STEELERS game at LP Field, home of the Titans. A BIG thanks to my girlfriend Alicia for the hook up on the seats! The trip started on Friday, the 17th at 8:30 a.m. rolling out of the driveway. I was sure to feed Samantha before we left, however, about an hour into things she apparently hadn't had enough b/c she was screaming from the seat behind us and NOTHING made her stop! So, first stop...not even an hour into this 10.5 hour drive...a 10.5 hour drive without kids and a zillion stops! I thought...OH. MY. GOSH. WHAT are we doing/thinking?!??!? Is it too late to just change our minds?!??! Lol. OIY After a quick 'snack' for my little we headed out AGAIN for TN!!!

About 2 hours in everything was running smooth....and did so pretty much the entire trip there. :) We stopped every 3-4 hours to stretch and feed Samantha. THANK GOD for DVD players in vehicles these days. If they have to be strapped down at least they have something to watch while they have to sit there...right?!!? So we had a constant stream of children's movies, Finding Nemo, Toy Story, Wall-E, Care Bears....aaahhhhh.

Home Sweet Home <3



After 11.5 hours in the car we were a short hop, skip and a jumps 20 miles away from the Kingston Springs Exit off of I-40 and another 5 minutes from there to my bestie's house!!! Samantha decided that she was done with the car seat and wanted fed again so she starts crying/screaming....then Abigail, bless her heart, being so wore out from the trip starts crying b/c sister is upset....then Brian contorts his body so that he has Abigail's hand in on of his hands and one of Samantha's hands in the other hand and is singing to them to try and calm them down, what I don't recall......and I am laughing, almost hysterically to keep from going crazy! hahahaha Oh to be a fly on our windshield!

So we pull off at a rest stop right outside of Dixon and stretch out and I feed Samantha. Pack them back up and can't get there fast enough! There were deer all over the place...I don't remember seeing so many deer before.....so I was not speeding and darting my eyes side to side to make sure I wasn't going to be taken by surprise. We get off the exit...stop at McDonald's for dinner to go and head up the road. We are about 1/2 way to Kelly's house and Abigail has been whining/fussing since we stopped at the road side rest stop and out of nowhere she says...Daddy, I need a nap! In this pitiful but sweet little voice. We just busted out laughing and agreed that we ALL needed a nap after that drive. We pulled into Kel's drive way exactly 12 hours later! WHAT A DAY!!! Cole (Kelly's little man and my future Son-in-law) was SO excited to see Abigail and Abigail was just as excited to see him! They acted like they just saw each other yesterday instead of almost a year ago! <3 As soon as Mommy stepped out of the car my throat instantly felt the change in weather and instant sore throat....UGH! TN!


Saturday the 18th....today we met up with my brother's best friend Shel and his family. They were at a marina in Hendersonville celebrating Shel's birthday. It was so good to see them and it warmed my heart to see my brother's best friend with my little girl.....almost made me cry. I got to meet his little ones....3 yr old twins...and Abigail and Sophia bonded pretty quick. Wish we could have spent more time together but we had to get to the cemetery.

Forever friends


Making our traditional stop at Krogers we picked out our flowers and bought our supplies to clean off Darren's headstone. Abigail picked out her own flowers....a beautiful bouquet of green, yellow and purple...purple is her favorite color so they were a must. I picked out a bouquet of Autumn colors...gold and burgundy. I began cleaning Darren's headstone with vinegar water and a toothbrush. Wasn't long before I heard a sweet little voice saying, "Mommy, I help...I help, Mommy."



As I looked at my beautiful daughters face just eager to help me. She has no idea why we are there. She knows about her Uncle Darren, she'll point to him in pictures. But I'm really kinda envious of her child-like ignorance about it all at this time in her life. Where she is at right now in life, everything is so simple. So, she took over the scrubbing of the letters and numbers with the toothbrush for a while as I watched her....tears streaming down my face....my heart hurting but smiling. Oh how he would love her, I thought to myself. We continued to scrub and then washed it off with water and dried it off with paper towels. Brian was so sweet that he took both girls for a short walk to give me some time alone. When they came back Abigail wanted to put the flowers on his grave, so I let her do hers and mine.






She stood up after placing them and said, "I love you, Uncle Darren." ....oh honey, he loves you to!!! and to put it as he would say....you absolutely drip with preciousness. :) We got loaded back into the car and Abigail seemed upset to leave, repeating his name and whining a little....man that's tough to hear....but also amazing. She loves him, she's never met him but she loves him. <3 It was about 4:30 when we left the cemetery and at this time I had NO VOICE! NICE!

Sunday the 19th....FOOTBALL TIME for Mommy and Daddy!!! Cole's Nena came over to Kelly's house to watch the kiddos as Kelly, Clint, Brian and myself headed out to the Steelers vs Titans game! Mommy still has NO VOICE but I'm determinded to SCREAM and HOLLAR for my team!!! We left you in your jammies but layed out your Steelers jersey for Nena to trustingly put on you later! ;) She later said you didn't want you jersey on until the game came on t.v. and she explained to you that Mommy and Daddy were there...she said you immediately wanted your jersey on! GOOD GIRL! We had a great time at the game, Steelers winning 19-11, but I was so ready to get back to you and your sister!!! We missed you! :)

Monday the 20th....packed up and ready to go! Hitting the road west bound at 8:10. The ride home was a llooonnngggg one. Both Abigail and her sister were tired and wore out. Note to self: be mentally prepared for an 11 hourish trip home with a 2.5 yr old that hasn't had a nap for the last 3 days and didn't get much sleep!!! AAAAHHHHHHHH.... I was ready to pull my hair out an hour into the trip!!! It's Daddy's birthday today so we sang happy birthday to him and the rest of the day Abigail felt it her duty to say, "Happy birthday, Daddy!" every 15 minutes or so. It was cute the first two hours....wore us out after a while tho! She's such a loving little thing! Somehow we made it and I don't think I was ever so thankful to be out of that car....I think my sweet Abigail felt the same way! lol Waiting at home were Mimi and Josh with a cherry turnover with a candle it for Daddy's birthday! :)

The girl does not like the sun in her eyes....so we had to block it with the pillow!

Grandparent's Day!

We love Mimi and Mine Mine for who they are and all they do for us! Today we celebrated the day with them just hanging out at the house. Both Abigail and Samantha have been sick for a couple of days and Mine Mine has been fighting sinus issues to....along with Brian and I! The only well people are Josh and Mimi!

The Mommies group I am part of met on Friday to make a grandparents day gift of silhouettes of the kiddos! I pretty much just watched and socialized while there and dug in once home after I picked out all the materials I wanted to use! :) I LOVE doing crafts. They turned out so cute and I was so pleased with them I think I'll make my own set! I didn't take close up pics b/c I was too tired by the time I finished them last night but you can get a glimps of them in the pic below! Needless to say they were a hit! We love you M & M....thank you for everything you do for us and thank you for spending the day with us!!! :)

Tuesdays my daughter has Mother's Day Out at our church in town. She went there last year and really enjoyed it...she loved her teachers~ Ms. Jan and Ms. Sheila~ and enjoyed beeing around kiddos the same age as her. This year we were sad to say goodbye to Ms. Jan (even though she's right across the teeny tiny hall!) and so excited we got Ms. Sheila and Ms. Tiffany this year! I dropped off my daughter for week number 2 yesterday....Jonah and the Wale was the story of the day! When I picked her up they always have their 'craft' placed outside to pick up with the kiddos names on them. I sought out Abigail's and smiled as I picked it up....a picture, of Jonah and the whale of course! I could just see my little with a red crayon in her hand going all crazy in circles and the look on her face as she concentrated gluing the blue died rice on the page as the water. Ms. Sheila will give me a rundown of the day and how well she did or didn't do. She knows that we have been working on the potty training thing and last week she didn't go potty but she stayed dry. My girl holds it as long as possible....TRYING to break this habit! Anyways....Ms. Sheila tells me that she actually went pee on the potty today and that when she did she said "Mommy be SO HAPPY!" Makes this Mommy's heart smile to know she wants to make her Mommy proud of her...and also knowing that she knows that I AM! I am super duper proud of my little in every way!

Suppose to be NAPPING!

The last few days Abigail has decided that it is way more important to play than it is to nap during her 'nap time'. LOL OIY! Needless to say, Mommy DOES NOT agree with this 2 yr old's thought process, especially when it gets to be 6:00 and the little attitude of hers starts rearing it's little head. *SIGH* So, this Labor Day weekend we had to get all of our stuff that we had moved out of our house and into a storage unit and move it back into our house. Well, actually it's jam packed into one side of our garage! Anyways, we got both girls in bed and headed out the door leaving Mimi in charge in case they decided to wake up! about 2 hours later we return with the rented truck from our storage unit and back her into the drive way. Mom walkes out the front door, Samantha in her arms....'she just woke up!' I head up the stairs b/c I hear a sweet little girls voice babbling away over heard. Once I reached the top of the stairs I noticed there was a ton of light under her door. Now, she has those thermal block curtains, so when I saw the light I knew she was not in her bed! When I opened the door...there she stood....holding the curtain back with one hand and bending the blinds with the other pearing out the window looking at the 'big tuck' in the front drive way. MINE MINE!!!! She says as she jumps up and down. (Mine Mine, for those that do not know, is what the kids call my Dad...don't ask, just know it fits him perfectly!) I had bought BG several new pairs of pj's that I had placed up in her room (within reach of her) and at some point during the 'suppose to be napping time' she got out of bed, went over to her new jammies, picked out her favorite pair, snapped it off those little plastic strings that hold the 'sets' together, and continued to put it on! Now, mind you, she does not dress herself yet and the fact that she attempted this makes me smile b/c I can just imagine her maneuvering her little arms and doing her best to figure things out. After having said all that....THIS is what I opened the door to find.....

HAHAHAHHAHA....yes...the green top is what goes with the stripes....the pink cupcakes...well, you can see she tried her best. Her little arms found the right holes, but her head couldn't quite find the hole it was suppose to be in! :) I LOVE THIS LITTLE GIRL!!! She keeps me smiling every day. :)

The first of many....

So, I have broke down and joined the blogger world!!! lol I decided that I needed to create a blog for my daughter Abigail because she is at such a cute age....the things she does/says most of the time has me in stitches! My Mom is continuously telling me to 'write it in her baby book, you need to write it down because you won't remember it later.' Well, her baby book is shoved in it's little box up on a shelf and to continuously get it down is quite annoying to me and then to take the time to actually put pen to paper, well, I just don't have that time with a toddler and an infant! WHICH leads me to BLOG! I hope that you enjoy watching my sweet little grow and you get a kick every now and then out of her cute little personality. <3
